Why a deadbolt

A spring latch can sometimes be forced back. A deadbolt only moves with the key or thumb turn, which makes the door much harder to force.

Common questions

I am locked out. What should I do?

Call us. We open residential locks and can fit new keys where needed. We may ask for identification and proof that you live at the property before opening the door.

Should I repair my lock or replace it?

If a lock is sticking or worn, servicing or repairing it is often enough. If it is damaged, very old or no longer secure, replacing it is usually the better choice. We will tell you which makes sense before any work starts.

What does keying alike mean?

Keying alike means several locks open with the same key, so you carry fewer keys. A master key system goes a step further: one key opens every lock, while other keys open only their own doors.

Can a deadbolt be added to my existing door?

In most cases, yes. A deadbolt fits alongside your existing lock to give the door a second, stronger lock. We check the door and frame first.
